detail from Topsy-Turvy
ICARUS
In hope
I surrendered my wings
for mortality
for senses
for life
While he
so vain
wanted to escape
through
flight
With wax
he attached
the wings which were
once
mine
He flew
so near
to my
beloved friend
the sun
Unlucky
he was
the warmth
of my ally
melted the wax
My frail wings
dropped him
the mortal
Icarus
fell.
