Through the Eye of the Needle
I know a lot of people who love grandiose stuff and in a way I can say I am guilty of such things. However, this news clip caught my attention and made me appreciate the "little things" more. There is nothing impossible if one believes that he or she is capable of doing great things even in small ways.
He was made to feel small when he was younger that was why he became fascinated with small things. It was not entirely his fault why he felt that way but he used it to his advantage. He made something positive out of some negative stuff hurled towards him. Now he can laugh his way to the bank. His micro creations just made him a multimillionaire.
Lesson: If you have faith in yourself (and in the Divine if you will), you will be able to do things which negative people deem impossible.

Let It Begin With Me
Last night I watched Jessica Soho's weekly show and she featured some people with autism... A choir of people with autism sang Let There Be Peace on Earth and I was so moved that people like them made an effort to sing wonderfully and with feelings, without minding what other people think/thought about them. This morning I attended mass... YES I DID...and the choir sang the same song, the female lead sang with an enchanting voice I wanted to weep...
Just to make the world less chaotic, I guess I have to sing along to the song too!
Give peace a chance???
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

When I Come Around
I heard you crying loud,
all the way across town
You've been searching for that someone,
and it's me out on the prowl
As you sit around feeling sorry for yourself
Well, don't get lonely now
And dry your whining eyes
I'm just roaming for the moment
Sleazin' my back yard so don't get so uptight
you been thinking about ditching me
No time to search the world around
Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
I heard it all before
So don't knock down my door
I'm a loser and a user so I don't need no accuser
to try and slag me down because I know you're right
So go do what you like
Make sure you do it wise
You may find out that your self-doubt means nothing
was ever there
You can't go forcing something if it's just
not right
No time to search the world around
Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
When I come around
No time to search the world around
Cause you know where I'll be found
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around
When I come around

GMA is NOT Manny Pacquiao
Well I bet everybody has already read Why GMA is NOT Jesus Christ... Now I am posting Mr. Conrado de Quiros' article on why Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is not like the great boxer Manny Pacquiao. I think I need not explain more since Mr. de Quiros already made very important points. Enjoy reading :D
Why Arroyo is not Pacquiao
By Conrado de Quiros

The only sour note in every victory by Manny Pacquiao is Malacañang rushing to take credit for it. Indeed, not just rushing to take credit for it but rushing to identify with it, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo specifically appropriating Pacquiao’s persona and posturing as the Pacquiao of Philippine politics, or even of the world. It’s almost a cinch, or at least it has far better odds than Pacquiao got as “dejado” in his fight against Oscar de la Hoya, that she will use Pacquiao’s latest, and most glorious, fight to push for Charter change more strenuously, drawing parallels between the two.
Hence, this column:
Ms Arroyo is not Pacquiao because:
When Ms Arroyo travels to the United States to personally congratulate the president-elect of that country, she is snubbed by the president-elect. When Pacquiao travels to the United States to personally train before a major fight, he is welcomed with a red carpet by the heads of the various boxing organizations. Half the time it is Pacquiao who snubs the fawning heads of the boxing organizations, or at least their even more fawning subalterns.
When Ms Arroyo attends a meeting of world leaders, her views are not solicited either by her colleagues or the media. Only her press secretary and spokesperson are there to report to her credulous compatriots (or so they deem us to be, not entirely without reason) how she lectured the world leaders on how to solve the global economic crisis and how they listened to her in rapt attention. When Pacquiao fights a fight, particularly one as huge as the last one with Oscar de la Hoya, the various boxing groups vie to hold press conferences for him and the sportswriters push and shove to ask him questions, hanging on to his every word. Half the time he is so busy training to want to humor them, though he has been known to exchange pleasantries with the training camp help and Recah Trinidad.
Ms Arroyo desperately tries to look world-class, hobnobbing (or attempting to hobnob) with the world’s most powerful personages in hopes of their luster rubbing off on her. Certainly with a view to having herself photographed with them to suggest to her countrymen that despite her diminutive stature, she stands heads and shoulders with the world’s titans. Pacquiao doesn’t bother with looking world-class, he knows so, he is so. The boxing world’s most powerful personages try to hobnob with him in hopes of his luster rubbing off on them, or, as in the case of other fighters, in hopes of his formidable fighting spirit rubbing off on them. His countrymen can only stand in awe as, despite his diminutive stature, he stands heads and shoulders above the world’s greats, or would-be greats.
Ms Arroyo is inch by inch possibly the worst leader in the world today. Pacquiao is pound by pound possibly the best boxer in the world today.
When Ms Arroyo ran against the hugely popular and seemingly invincible Fernando Poe Jr., she needed to call up an official of the Commission on Elections during the counting to make sure she would win, specifically asking, “Will I still win by one million votes?” When Pacquiao fought the hugely popular and seemingly invincible De la Hoya, he did not need to whisper to the judges, “So, will I still win by decision even if I do not knock him out?”
When Ms Arroyo ran against the Goliath Fernando Poe Jr., nobody knew how the votes, particularly in Mindanao, Poe’s turf, were counted, which ended up prohibitively in her favor. The general in charge of the area was prevented from speaking out against the anomalies and even court-martialed. When Pacquiao took to the ring against the Goliath de la Hoya, everybody saw how he did it, how blow by blow, jab by jab, sweat by sweat, he fashioned a masterful job, turning the fight prohibitively in his favor. No one, not even De la Hoya himself, prevented his corner from throwing in the towel, everyone breathing a sigh of relief that they did so.
Ms Arroyo is the disputed queen of her own country. Pacquiao is the undisputed king of the world lightweight division—and probably soon of the welterweight as well.
Ms Arroyo says she will push for Charter change but only to change the economic framework of the country, the better to deal with the global crisis, not to extend term limits. Six years ago this month, she announced that for the good of the country, specifically in order not to cause never-ending divisiveness, she would not run for president. She did anyway, and won insidiously. Pacquiao said he would shift to a higher weight class the better to test the limits of his abilities and extend the range of his domination. Some months ago he announced that for the honor of his country, he would take on one of the legends of boxing and do everything in his power to make that country proud of him. He did as he said, and won brilliantly.
Ms Arroyo’s Charter change evokes Clint Eastwood’s aphorism in one of his Dirty Harry movies, “A man’s got to know his limitations,” which applies to woman as well. Pacquiao’s victory evokes Browning’s great line: “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s heaven for.”
Pacquiao has brought honor to his country. Ms Arroyo has brought shame to her country. Pacquiao is adored by his countrymen, even when he sings karaoke. Ms Arroyo is reviled by her countrymen, even when she tries to sing a different tune. Each time Pacquiao comes home, he is treated like a conquering hero. Each time Ms Arroyo comes home, she is treated like an uncontainable plague. Wherever Pacquiao goes, he is mobbed by adoring fans, eager to touch him. Wherever Ms Arroyo goes, she is met by an angry mob, eager to lynch her. Pacquiao has united his countrymen by giving them to see the best that they can be. Ms Arroyo has divided her countrymen by giving them to see the worst that they can be.
The nation would love Pacquiao to reign forever. The nation would love to see Ms Arroyo step down now.
As long as people can see that the president is not honestly serving her countrymen, there will be people who will criticize every move she makes. She'd better repent NOW... Lord I pray she'll come to her senses... Unless she really wants to be lynched by an angry mob someday...

GMA Is NOT Jesus Christ
I hope Mr. de Quiros would not mind if I copy and paste his article here on my blog. I just want to share it with the rest of the world...
Why Arroyo is not Jesus Christ
By Conrado de Quiros

Friends have asked me why I have not written about that comment of Rep. Pablo Garcia that has had Filipino Catholics aghast and incensed. Specifically that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is like Jesus Christ who did not win popularity contests. "Pontius Pilate presented our Lord to the crowd and said, 'Whom do you prefer, Barrabas or Jesus Christ, to crucify.' Our Lord Jesus lost in the survey."
Well, it's never too late. Having just written about why Ms Arroyo is not Manny Pacquiao, I might as well write about why Ms Arroyo is not Jesus Christ.
Ms Arroyo is not Jesus Christ because:
Jesus Christ kept the company of the poor and oppressed, preaching that the humble will be exalted and the exalted humbled and that the meek shall inherit the earth. He was opposed by the Pharisees who greatly minded that he subverted their position by saying things like the old must give way to the new. He chose for his apostles fishers whom he turned into fishers of men. He bade them leave all their earthly possessions and follow him and they would be rewarded with riches beyond belief-of the spirit and not of the flesh.
Ms Arroyo keeps the company of the rich and dissolute, assuring, if not preaching, that the innocent will be punished and the guilty rewarded, and that the sick shall inherit the earth. She is supported by the P(h)arasites, who are the bishops who say variously that truth and lie are just icing on the cake, everybody cheats anyway, and the new (freedoms) must give way to the old (chains). She has chosen for her apostles dishers of compliment, also called fawners, whom she has turned into fishers of loot, with her at the collecting end of it. She has bid them leave all their earthly convictions and follow her and they would be rewarded with riches beyond belief-of the flesh and not of the spirit.
Jesus Christ did not mind the company of a well-known prostitute, a woman who sold her body to the highest bidder, but who turned over a new leaf. Ms Arroyo does not mind the company of well-known prostitutes, people who sell their souls to the highest bidder, and who will turn a new face (or turn to a new master) later on.
Furious at finding merchants selling all sorts of wares in his temple, Jesus Christ flailed at them, crying, "My temple is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves!" Furious at Brig. Gen. Francisco Gudani, Jun Lozada and other whistleblowers for telling the truth, Ms Arroyo flails at them, crying, "My temple is a den of thieves but you have made it into a house of prayer!"
Jesus Christ told the devil who tormented him while he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert, "Be gone, accursed one." Ms Arroyo told Cory Aquino, Jaime Cardinal Sin, Jose de Venecia, Fidel Ramos and all those who fomented her while she lasted for 4,000 days and 4,000 nights, "Be gone, accursed ones."
Jesus Christ turned six loaves of bread into 6,000 to feed the hungry. Ms Arroyo has turned the 6,000 loaves of bread into six pan de sal (if you can see them) to feed the greedy. Jesus Christ turned water into wine. Ms Arroyo turns water into vinegar. Jesus Christ brought Lazarus back from the grave. Ms Arroyo sends democracy (which Cory brought back from the grave) back to the grave. Jesus Christ made the blind see, the deaf hear, the mute speak, the lame walk. Ms Arroyo has made the seeing blind, the hearing deaf, the voiced voiceless, and the healthy sick (or dead).
Jesus Christ said, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." Ms Arroyo says, "Give unto FG [First Gentleman] what is FG's and to me what is mine." Jesus Christ said, "You cannot serve both God and Mammon." Ms Arroyo says, "I am both God and Mammon, you can serve me." Jesus Christ said God allows evil into the world to test the faith of men. Ms Arroyo says, "God put me here."
Jesus Christ was betrayed by Judas. Ms Arroyo is defended by God-Knows-Hudas-Not-Pay. Jesus Christ was denied three times by his right-hand man Peter, who went on to regret his moment of weakness and never again made the same mistake, enduring an exquisitely painful death while clinging steadfastly to his beliefs. Ms Arroyo was embraced twice by her left-hand men and women in
Jesus Christ lost the popularity contest between him and Barrabas, and was condemned to death. Ms Arroyo has lost the popularity contest between her and any duly elected leader, but has been elevated to life, or lifetime rule. For turning against their Savior, the Jews were condemned to become Wandering Jews. For not turning against their Oppressor, the Filipinos have been condemned to become Wandering Filipinos (and not just as overseas Filipino workers). Jesus Christ allowed himself to be crucified to pay for humankind's sins. Ms Arroyo crucifies the people to pay for her sins. Jesus Christ surrendered himself to the will of heaven, which is the voice of God. Ms Arroyo refuses to surrender herself to the will of the people, which is the voice of God. Christ's death is mourned by every Christian. Ms Arroyo's life is mourned by every Filipino.
On the third day, Jesus Christ ascended into heaven. On her first day, Ms Arroyo descended into hell. Christ's life and teachings are recalled in the gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Ms Arroyo's life and doings are recalled in the gospel according to Juan, Ed, Miriam and Joker. Jesus Christ had a rock opera named after him, which was "Jesus Christ, Superstar." Ms Arroyo will have a zarzuela named after her, which is "Ate Glo, Superglue."
Jesus Christ is a real God. Ms Arroyo is a fake president.
I bow down to Mr. de Quiros for having the courage to write such a powerful article. I hope the president will reflect on it and learn from it. She should repent if she wants redemption.

Unique?
There is no religion that is capable of bringing all the stars together, because if this were to happen, the universe would become a gigantic, empty space and would lose its reason for existence. Every star -- and every person -- has their own space and their own special characteristics.

Ape Ape Hooray!

One Gorilla's Opinion
by
tom2001
The guy who took this photo swore he never manipulated the pic, no Photoshop, no bull... The ape got a tendon disease and the symbol stated by her middle finger is kind of a permanent condition on her hand. Either the middle finger sign was intended or not, I love the shot. Thanks for cooperating big ape!
Gorillas are the largest of the living primates and they are ground-dwelling herbivores who live in the forests of Africa (and in zoos tsk tsk!). The DNA of gorillas is said to be 98% to 99% identical to that of a human being and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after the two chimpanzee species. Whaaaat??? Do you want to be called a relative of a gorilla??? Tsk tsk...
I remember seeing the movie Congo when I was in early high school and the domesticated gorilla in the film was quite smart, did American Sign Language and painted some stuff. Now I'm wondering if the film employed a real gorilla or a person in a gorilla suit... Maybe that gorilla in the movie is related to the gorilla in the pic above... Doing sign language stuff... LOL!
Anyway, I chose to post this photo because of the middle finger thingy... That's the whole point... Since I don't want to post my own ugly pic with my middle finger in the air, I'll just let this ape do her thing...
One big F**K YOU to FLU...
...and another one to some people out there who love sour graping because they didn't get what they want and they got crucified... tsk tsk... bato bato sa langit... :p

A Plea By Somebody Who Is KSP
Let me share to you this heart-tugging poem by Pablo Neruda:
Si Tu Me Olvidas
Quiero que sepas
una cosa.
Tú sabes cómo es esto:
si miro
la luna de cristal, la rama roja
del lento otoño en mi ventana,
si toco
junto al fuego
la impalpable ceniza
o el arrugado cuerpo de la leña,
todo me lleva a ti,
como si todo lo que existe:
aromas, luz, metales,
fueran pequeños barcos que navegan
hacia las islas tuyas que me aguardan.
Ahora bien,
si poco a poco dejas de quererme
dejaré de quererte poco a poco.
Si de pronto
me olvidas
no me busques,
que ya te habré olvidado.
Si consideras largo y loco
el viento de banderas
que pasa por mi vida
y te decides
a dejarme a la orilla
del corazón en que tengo raíces,
piensa
que en esa día,
a esa hora
levantaré los brazos
y saldrán mis raíces
a buscar otra tierra.
If You Forget Me
I want you to know
one thing.
You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.
If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.
If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

Mutiny???
the boat is shaky
the crew in distress
some are ready for uprising
some were marooned
the shaky ship sails on
but will it survive?
will it reach better shores?
will the crew settle down?
will there be mutiny or not?
i can't wait to find out...
welcome aboard s.s. hell...

Ahh, Look at All the Lonely People!
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
I'm here online thinking and wondering if other people in my side of the world are awake and why are they not yet in slumber land. Aside from the slaves of the graveyard shift, are there people out there who are awake because they just can't sleep?
Maybe some of them are just feeling lonely or what...
I suggest they should watch funny videos...
Emo is NOT cool...
